Rated 4 out of 5 by Davel107 from Ultimate roaster? Product worked well. Chicken was moist. Breast skin did not brown properlyDate published: 2016-06-13Rated 1 out of 5 by justjohnk from doesn't fit. doesn't hang as shown I don't know if you need a certain sized roaster to make this thing work, but it hangs one end down and, on a weber kettle, hits the grates if on the low side and hits the top if on the high. First time user with a roaster chicken, the legs don't fit - they hand closer to the body than in the pictures and the bones are on an angle and too thick to fit the hooks. I used it in a kettle with the 7" rotisserie ring in place and the result was, well, nothing special. One time use and out.... I can't even return it because it was a gift. I think WS only cooks fryers... or pigeons. Oh, and I have to store it in parts - the frame doesn't collapse, which is kinda ok on the grill, but it won't fit in anything - and the hanger and hook in a baggie somewhere. Delicious results with minimal prep work. The only bit that wasn't covered very well in the video was the removal of the chicken from the hanger. After the chicken has cooled for a few minutes, pinch the metal tips at the neck opening while pushing in the lever at the other end. This makes removal of the skewer easier.Date published: 2015-07-16Rated 1 out of 5 by tieadora from A far cry from "ultimate"! This didn't fit in my Weber grill so I decided to try it in my oven. It barely fit in my oven height-wise either but I proceeded to cook the chicken. There was nothing outstanding about the finished product and hardly worth the fiddling around that is involved with setting this up. I only wish I could return it but I have used it so I guess I'm stuck with it.Date published: 2015-07-16Rated 5 out of 5 by RKB1 from Does a Great Job! It's very easy to use and clean up. Does a marvelous job and produces moist and juicy chicken. Much better than other "beer can" methods I've tried. Now they include a helpful instruction sheet. Before they started doing this there were a lot of complaints in reviews about this. On my BBQ at 425 -450 degrees a 5-12 pound chicken takes at least 2 hours, a little longer than W-S says. Be sure to check with a good food thermometer. I put a disposable aluminum baking pan under the grill and on top of the unused burner to catch the grease to make cleaning up the BBQ easier.Date published: 2015-07-08Rated 5 out of 5 by KatieInNC from Innovative Chix Roaster I did not believe "another" method for cooking chicken could be dreamed up, but....HERE IT IS! This is truly the ultimate way to roast a chicken and get the juiciest most tender chix EVER. The juice running down into the breast meat makes it so flavorful.. I generally use that meat for hot or cold sandwiches. No more...because the breast meat is just as tender as the thighs. Believe it!Date published: 2015-07-08Rated 4 out of 5 by TedofManhattan from Very interesting and fun but tricky Okay: How do you get the bird LEVEL? Am I using too large a bird? 1st time was too large but now I have a 4.5 lb bird and it is sloped. Maybe there is a counter weight?Date published: 2015-07-07Rated 5 out of 5 by nmcepeda from Best way to roast a juicy chicken This roaster caught my eye in the store. I do agree that there should be instructions included, as even an employee at the store wasn't able to figure out how to use it. I pulled up the video on the WS website on my phone and figured it out. For those reviewers whose chicken touched the grill surface, the rack can be put in any position that best holds the chicken depending on its size. The chicken was wonderful whether I cooked it on the grill or in the oven. It was very juicy and the skin was golden and crispy. I am purchasing a second roaster to cook 2 chickens at once when we have dinner guests.Date published: 2015-07-04
