Rated 3 out of 5 by velocitymj from The 5 Star Wine Glass With 1 Star Fragility. I'm now replacing my 3rd Bordeaux Grand Cru glass in my set. For some reason, wine does taste better from the Grand Cru glasses. The balance of the glass in the hand and depth of taste from the wine that is experienced when drinking with these glasses is something that no other glass accomplishes. But the Bordeaux glasses (especially) are exceptionally fragile and cannot take even slight pressure against the lip of the glass. And it always when drying them, that they've broken. The mouth of the glass is just too narrow to try and fit a towel in. I have found that the best way to preserve the glass is to allow them to drain and then use a paper towel inside the glass and swabbed around with something narrow and light (I'm using a wooden chop stick) to get the water spots out before it completely dries.Date published: 2017-04-06Rated 5 out of 5 by PeteH from A Gorgeous glass These glasses are works of art, and I truly enjoy drinking from them. I've used them for fifteen years and never broke one, but they /are/ incredibly delicate. For some people that takes away the fun of them, but I find them well worth the money if you enjoy savoring wine and aren't on a budget. Disclaimer: I work for Williams-Sonoma, but am reviewing this as a happy consumer, not in my capacity as an employee.Date published: 2015-12-18Rated 1 out of 5 by PennyIsh from A beautiful glass but entirely too fragile I read reviews of this glass before purchasing it and knew that it would be fragile. However it truly is TOO fragile. I used it once, and hand washed it, and in attempting to dry it gently with a dish towel, it shattered. If a glass is too fragile to be able to wash it carefully by hand, something is not right. If it wasn't too fragile, I would give it 5 stars as it was really a beautifully thin glass.Date published: 2014-09-14Rated 5 out of 5 by cjv1 from Enhances wine experience This glass is both beautiful and very light. It greatly adds to the appreciation of the wine. Must be careful in handling as the glass is delicate.Date published: 2013-12-01
