Williams Sonoma Pulled Pork Starter

Our time-saving starter makes it easy to create your own rendition of the pulled pork sandwich, a classic with as many versions as there are southern barbecue cooks. The sweet and smoky blend of ingredients include spicy brown mustard, tangy apple cider vinegar, savory chicken demi-glace, vine-ripened tomato and blackstrap molasses. The sauce is slow simmered for hours to achieve complex smoky-sweet flavors. Simply combine the starter with pork in a slow cooker or Dutch oven and simmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FlossieG from Love this sauce This is my favorite sauce for pulled pork. I think it is a flavorful balance of vinegar and tomato sauces.Date published: 2016-04-17Rated 2 out of 5 by Baker12345 from Very Spicy This was way hotter that I was expecting. I even checked my label to see if I accidentally purchased the spicy version. Wonder if the jar is mismarked because this is definitely HOT!!! Love lots of your products but this was a miss.Date published: 2016-03-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Cupcake02 from Best thing to cook with pork! Great BBQ flavor! It says good for 3 lbs of pork, I have tried the one jar with a 6.5 lb piece of pork in a dutch oven and it gave great flavor for double the amount! Great recipe starter, super easy and delicious! Ideal for rich BBQ flavor without any smoking or extra work!Date published: 2016-01-06Rated 5 out of 5 by RADM from superb for parties! I have been using this starter for pulled beef for an annual party we have. Everyone loves the result. I am ordering once again!Date published: 2015-07-04Rated 4 out of 5 by TexasEd from Exceptional with Exceptions... just a couple Would have given this 5 stars if not for two main issues. 1) Too much vinegar in the base. It you are trying to provide an overall "pulled pork" base, reducing the amount of vinegar and increasing the tomato base would be a more universal flavor appeal. 2) Get rid of the High Fructose Corn Syrup!! There are so many other healthier options for providing a "sweetner" than HFCS... agave, honey, just to name two. Flavor is great, spice is just right, smoky flavor perfect (not too harsh or too weak), and lastly, is great as a sauce to add to either sandwiches or to put this on top of a baked potato with the pork, cheddar cheese, green onions and sauce! Please... get rid of the corn syrup!Date published: 2015-05-11Rated 5 out of 5 by angelrose from Husbands Favorite!! Delicious!! Super simple too! It was better next day. I added cheese to the bread and toasted it in the oven! Crock pot is an easy way. Next time I'm going to sear the meat a little longer in the pan before transferring to crock pot!Date published: 2015-02-03Rated 5 out of 5 by HEADCHEF2 from Unbelievable Flavor!! I am constantly on a quest for products and recipes that have fantastic flavor and this one has exceeded my expectations! The complexity of spicy, tangy, sweet, & smokey flavors in a broth-like consistency was unbelievably good and perfect to eat as a sandwich or alone with a side of veggies if you are watching your carbs. An additional perk is how easy it is to prepare!Date published: 2014-11-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Lalisa from Everyone LOVES this, but... Everyone Loves this! I have served it at fall parties and family gatherings. I am asked for the recipe often. However, I am disappointed to discover that High Fructose Corn Syrup is used in this. I try to avoid that ingredient, so I now I have a dilemma. I feel guilty feeding that ingredient to those I love. (or anyone) Come on WS, use something else please.Date published: 2014-09-05
