The cake ships frozen with dry ice. Upon receipt, immediately unwrap the cake and remove from the box. It is best to unwrap while still frozen. To enjoy the same day, thaw on the counter for at least 12 hours. To enjoy at a later date, place unopened cake in the freezer for up to 1 month.
