An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Sesame Soba with Asparagus and Mushrooms

Prepare the soba noodles according to the package instructions.

While the noodles are cooking, in a small bowl, whisk together 2 Tbs. of the sesame oil, the tamari, lime juice and honey.

When the noodles are done, drain in a colander, rinse with cool water and drain again. Transfer the noodles to a bowl, add the tamari mixture and toss to coat.

Place a cast-iron or nonstick fry pan over medium-high heat. Add the sesame seeds to the pan and toast, stirring constantly, until fragrant and just browned, about 2 minutes. Add the sesame seeds to the noodles.

Return the pan to medium-high heat. When it is very hot, add 2 tsp. of the remaining sesame oil and swirl, then add the mushrooms and a pinch of salt. Allow the mushrooms to sit without stirring until seared on one side, about 2 minutes, then stir and cook for 2 minutes more. Transfer the mushrooms to a small bowl and set aside to cool slightly.

Add the remaining 1 tsp. sesame oil to the pan, followed by the asparagus. Cook for 1 minute, then add the carrot, garlic and a pinch of salt and cook for 2 minutes. Add the vegetables to the mushrooms and let cool a bit, then place them in the bowl with the noodles. Add the mint, basil and green onions and toss to combine. Taste and add more lime juice or tamari if desired. Serve immediately. Serves 4.

  • Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely IN LOVE With This! My parents gave this to me for Christmas and I absolutely can not say enough good things about it. I'm completely in love. Pros: First, the whole concept is brilliant. I've been wanting to make homemade pasta for years, but thought I had to mix the dough, let it rise, knead it, etc. and with four kids, I've been afraid to commit the time. But No - this machine does it all. And I don't know why they say 15 minutes. I make 'double' portions all the time and it's normally spitting out pasta in 4 to 5 minutes. If that's not cool enough, the design itself fantastic. When I first opened the box and found all the shapes, I feared I'd never see them again. Seriously, if your kids unload the dishwasher, you know what I mean. Lo-and-behold, Phillips put a drawer in the machine to store everything. And those funny caps that come with a couple of the shapes? Don't toss 'em! They make cleaning a snap. I wish laundry were as simple! Cons: Don't lose those measuring cups. Proportions are important and the recipes call for everything in grams, so it's best to use what they sent you. I suggest converting everything to cups and writing it in your your recipe book. That's a task I'll be completing today as the dog-ate-my-measuring-cup emergency is an eventual certainty. Also, the lines on the water measuring cup are darn near impossible to read, so be prepared to squint a little and have your permanent marker handy. I also wish Phillips had made a larger drawer space for the accessories. If you purchase additional shape cutters, they won't fit in the drawer. You also need a place for those essential measuring cups. Last, the lid has this little 'tab' thing on the front of it. When fitted properly on top, the tab fits into a slot and the machine runs. The turning pasta often kicks the lid up; when the tab comes out, you'll have to refit the lid to get the machine going again. Kind of a pain, but you're standing there anyway, so not a deal breaker. My problem is that after a mere 4 or 5 runs, the tab broke off my lid. Super glue is not an option because the tab requires a little flexibility. The good news is, if you just store the tab in the slot, the machine runs constantly and there's never a need to refit the lid. Not sure they'll think that's a viable option, but it's been working for me. In closing: Yes I love it. Yes I recommend it.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun product I ended up selling my Kitchen Aid pasta attachments as I was never using them. It was too much work to keep running the pasta through and the one with the auger didn't work well. This product is somewhat foolproof, but I am giving this only a four star in hopes they make some improvements. The little cleaning tool the supply has these little metal ends to reach in, but they are slightly too short to do what they are designed to do. The cookbook also does not have the cooking times for the various shapes nor does it guide you in what the dough should look like. It's hard to know if it's too dry or not until you process it.

I've learned to choose my flours, herbs & spices carefully and can now make amazing pasta using this machine! It's fun and I store my unused pasta in the freezer for next pasta meal! Highly recommend it to pasta & noodle lovers everywhere!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pasta I made my first batch of pasta last night.! We used the second setting , and it truly makes more then enough . Experience was thrilling This machine works great, I had everything ready and the boiling water ( salted) was right on key, My husband and I watched it work and literally was done in minutes like the video and book say. The pasta tasted great, cooked it about 9 min though because of the thickness. I recommend this machine to anyone who loves to make pasta, We can't wait to use it for the holidays, Yes the cleanup is so quick it only took me 5 min to separate the parts wash and wipe up !, For the pasta, I figured out the measurements, and I used 1 egg. I measured in my 1- cup measurement, to 3/4 cup of Semolina Flour, poured into the cup they gave me, then I filled it to the top with flour, leveled and put it in the machine, I did that 2 times for the second setting. Awesome!!.

With this machine, I have made seven different kinds of pasta with no bad batches. I use it all the time and love it. Clean-up takes a little while but is not difficult. I have had it for seven months.
