Rated 5 out of 5 by HolidayFoody from Perfect for recipes! MUST HAVE for holidays I use this for a delicious casserole that is not only crazy easy, but it is crazy delicious and a traditional family favorite. I absolutely RAVE about this (tastes like the best pumpkin pie you've ever had), and people ask me for the recipe all the time. Thanks Williams-Sonoma for providing it! Ingredients: 1. Williams-Sonoma Spiced Pecan Pumpkin Quick Bread Mix 2. Williams-Sonoma Organic Butternut Squash Puree 3. 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 2. Mix the condensed milk and butternut squash puree together in a casserole dish 3. Sprinkle entire package of the bread mix evenly over top of the puree. Do NOT mix. Some of it will sink in which is fine for thickening, while there will be a top dry layer of the mix which will serve as a streusel topping 4. Bake around 30-40 min, until the puree is custard-like in thicknessDate published: 2016-11-19Rated 1 out of 5 by Sprangers from Sooooo what happened to the original version? I have purchased this product for years and considered it a kitchen staple. Now I find the current version is NOT what I had before - too sweet and too sour at the same time. I loved the old version because I could use it as a base for so many things. Pretty please consider return to the original and please let us know when that happens because I need to refrain from wasting food. I will try one jar of the butternut bisque soup in the mean time.Date published: 2016-10-21Rated 1 out of 5 by Katsto from Not a fan of the new version This is too sweet for my taste. I much preferred the original version so I could add my own spices. Please bring it back!Date published: 2016-09-10Rated 1 out of 5 by Penny94 from Bring back the original version With the original version, you had the extra steps of adding onion and then using a blender or hand mixer if you wanted it to be smooth, but it tasted wonderful. The new version is faster, but very thin and sour. I made it edible by adding ginger, curry and 2 teaspoons of sugar. We loved the old version, so this was a major disappointment.Date published: 2015-11-22Rated 1 out of 5 by Fishergirl from WHAT HAPPENED? The original Butternut Squash Puree was excellent and made a fabulous soup. This new iteration has a metallic, sour taste. I tried to make a batch to freeze for Thanksgiving and I'm about to toss it. Horrible. Please bring back your original BS Puree. I bought 2 and don't know what to do with 2nd jar.Date published: 2015-11-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Carmies from Great for Lasagna This stuff is so good. I have made Butternut Squash Lasagna with this product and it always turns out excellent. Thanks for such a wonderful product. Hopefully you will have more next year.Date published: 2014-12-10Rated 1 out of 5 by giniajim from Salty taste, squash? This is a thin soup, which is ok, but the flavor is strange. Tastes like it's heavily salted and tangy. Not what you'd expect from a squash soup. We got two jars, used one for soup, and didn't feel like finishing that. Waste of calories. Love Williams-Sonoma but this product is a clinker.Date published: 2014-12-05Rated 2 out of 5 by DivotDiva from Just Make the Original Butternut Puree A few years ago W-S made a plain butternut puree which was fantastic for making soup, risotto, etc. The past few years they have replaced it with this one that contains cinnamon and it is sweeter. Please just offer the original so that people can make up their own mind how much spice or sugar to add to recipes. I threw mine out as it was way too sweet and tasted of too much cinnamon for soup.Date published: 2012-10-11
