Rated 5 out of 5 by Mina from Lovely Very beautiful and lovely, feels somewhat more polished than the olive wood I own. Berard france 1892 is written on it, something I didn't expect nor see in the picture. The end of the handle also appears less rounded than in the picture on the website. But a lovely spoon, comfortable in the hand, and I enjoy using it.Date published: 2017-04-26Rated 5 out of 5 by PeatMoss from Love this Spoon! I need another wooden spoon like I need a hole in my head, but I love olive wood. So I purchased this after reading the reviews. I must admit, this is a fabulous spoon. Perfect size--long handle and teardrop shaped spoon. Glad I bought it. Think I need 2! To keep it looking great, use mineral oil week for one week, the once a month for 6 - 12 months to preserve it's luster. I never place my wooden spoons in the dishwasher or microwave.Date published: 2016-09-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Toomey from It's hard to find spoons this size ! I really love it. Wooden spoons of this size that my mom gave me, have been used till I can't use them anymore . I had a really hard time finding more like them until this spoon, it's beautiful, smooth , great length for a stock pot and I plan on buying more. These spoons connect me with good memories !Date published: 2016-02-29Rated 5 out of 5 by TreN from Favorite Cooking Spoon This was my favorite spoon for nearly all cooking. Then, my husband took it outside to cook at the outdoor pit and it never found its way back to the kitchen. I went to the store to buy a new one and they no longer had it in stock. You could only image my relief when I found I can still get it online. I really enjoy the thin handle and the finish of the wood.Date published: 2015-03-17Rated 5 out of 5 by lnraug1 from Albanian Excellence! I bought this beautiful spoon over a week ago and have used it enough to know that the very shape of it is uniquely designed for getting everything out of a pan--corners or no corners! I love the 12" and wish I'd have bought the 14", as well. I will though--eventually... The quality of the make is obvious. BUY IT; it really is the perfect design (and fit) for my (and probably your) stirring needs. Way to go again--from a WS addict...Date published: 2014-11-10Rated 5 out of 5 by KayLeo from This WAS one of my favorite cooking tools... ... until my fiancé put it in the dishwasher! Now it looks unfinished and isn't smooth anymore because, I guess, the dishwasher washed the coat of wood finishing off. So, be warned! The Olive Wood Cooks' Spoon absolutely cannot be put in the dishwasher! So anyway, why did I like this tool so much? The bowl has a tear drop shape that made it possible to scrape off food at the bottom corners of any straight-edged pan or pot. It felt very sturdy and did not give at all even when stirring super thick sauces and batters as well as hardy soups. The spoon was also quite beautiful until, you know, it was washed in the dishwasher. I will definitely be purchasing a replacement!Date published: 2014-06-01Rated 5 out of 5 by ItalianCoffeeLover from Gorgeous and functional I love the beautiful grain, smooth feel and weighting of the olive wood used for this spoon. The long handle allows you to keep a comfortable distance from the steam/heat of what you're cooking. And the bowl of the spoon, while shallow, is deep enough for tasting. But for me the best part is the pointed tip. It's great for scrapping the sides of pots to make sure nothing is burning and to better incorporate ingredients. I have to say, for thick stews/gumbo/bolognese nothing beats the Littledeer pot scoop. But for lighter jobs like soups, oatmeal, sauces and stock this is perfect. I've even given away my 2 older cooking spoons as this is the only one I need.Date published: 2013-04-25
