Enjoy some of the best artisanal loaves we’ve ever tasted, delivered right to your door. From New England’s legendary Nashoba bakery, this classic sourdough bread derives its complex character from local wild yeasts in the starter, made from wild concord grapes harvested from the banks of the Nashoba Brook. Artisan bakers leaven the bread using a slow-rise process that further enhances the flavor, giving the finished loaves a mild, tangy taste. Requiring 24 hours to prepare from start to finish, the hand-shaped loaves are baked in old-style hearth ovens for a crisp, golden crust that beautifully complements the moist, supple crumb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hollyw from I can eat bread again! We watched Michael Pollan's documentary about how sourdough made the old world way, with hours of fermentation and naturally occurring yeast, allows bacteria to fully break down the carbohydrates and gluten in bread, making it easier to digest and releasing the nutrients within it. I'm gluten intolerant, and REALLY miss bread, so I thought I'd give this sourdough a try. I was shocked. I have no adverse reaction when I ate this bread. I felt fine! I think some angels may have even sung. I cant tell you how awesome it is to be able to eat bread... I know that not all sourdough is made the same way, but this is the real deal. I can't recommend it enough if you have a gluten sensitivity- give it a try. It's delicious and has been game changing for me. :) Thanks for making this bread accessible! Also, it arrives fresh and we put it right into the freezer. It re-heats perfectly, crunchy, fluffy, delicious.Date published: 2016-12-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Garnetta from Chewy, Dense, Delicious My husband and I love good bread, and this was an excellent sour dough! There are only two of us, so I sliced each loaf in half and froze the halves, and they didn't seem to lose anything in the freezing process. The bread is heavy, chewy and extremely flavorful. If you're a fan of sourdough bread you'll love this.Date published: 2016-03-27Rated 5 out of 5 by Ginny10 from Delicious bread Great and delicious bread. Will order again. Just love, love, this bread.Date published: 2015-12-16Rated 5 out of 5 by KathyMc from Very, very good! I just received these three loaves of sourdough bread shipped from Massachusetts all the way to California. The bread arrived fresh, sour and chewy the way a good sourdough should be. I froze two loaves and we will polish off the remaining loaf probably tomorrow. This company also has outstanding customer service. I had some e-mail communication with the business manager over shipping concerns and her suggestions and follow up were spot on. I even got an email reply to one question on a Sunday afternoon. I highly recommend this bread and this company.Date published: 2015-08-20Rated 5 out of 5 by waterviewgal from Fantastic Loaves Just about any one in my region will lament the lack of good local bread and bagels. Most of us think it is the water! I love these sourdough loaves and order them as often as I dare. My only issue is I have not found a good way to freeze them so sadly must consume the whole loaves shortly after arrival and share them with friends!Date published: 2015-07-14Rated 5 out of 5 by SadSan from Excellent! This is the second time ordering this sourdough bread for my husband, he loves it. I'm not a sourdough fan but I will eat this, it truly is fabulous. Just follow the directions if you need to freeze it, it will still come out fresh with the crust crispy. It tastes as good as it looks. =)Date published: 2014-01-24Rated 5 out of 5 by PeteCaron from Great Gift! My favorite bread Sent these to several family members in another state. Each recipient called to say how wonderful the bread was. My brother began looking for excuses to cook something that he could include the bread with. This is a great way to treat someone special (and yourself!) to a tasty treat. One warning: they are wonderfully addictive and you'll be ordering more. My wife often talks about how she grew up liking nothing except plain white bread ... Nashoba's wonderful breads made a convert out of her. My favorite is to dip in a hearty soup or as toast with breakfast. Sandwiches are a hit in our house with this too. My 4 and 1 year old both run around the house with pieces of this when I make toast. I am also a huge fan of Nashoba's Seven Grain ... wonderful flavor and texture. A true artisan bread! Have never tried the brioche buns, but ordered some with my gifts and my family raved at how great they were. Can't wait to try those next.Date published: 2013-10-24
