Mourad's Moroccan Harissa
Found on virtually every table in Morocco, harissa is as popular there as ketchup is in the U.S. Developed exclusively for us by Moroccan-born chef Mourad Lahlou, owner of San Francisco’s award-winning Aziza restaurant, our harissa is a spicy, smoky blend of tomato puree, olive oil, garlic, cayenne pepper and spices. Try it as a dipping sauce for fried seafood or grilled vegetables, spread it onto sandwiches and burgers, stir it into soups and sauces, or use it as a marinade or seasoning paste for grilled meats and seafood. It's also great mixed with mayonnaise for a subtler flavor.
