Lodge Cast-Iron Square Grill Pan
Rated 5 out of 5 by CookExtroidinaire from My First Cast-Iron This was my first cast-iron pan I ever purchased. The potential this pan possessed from all the craze I just had to buy it. It really lived up to all its hype and I instantly became a loyal cast iron fan shortly after the first use. I cooked chicken under a brick in this pan and it just came out better than I had ever imagined. I couldn't believe I cooked this dish. The pan had a lot to do with it because the ingredients I used were pretty basic, nothing fancy. This pan is one of my favorites I even take it with me on camping trips. I own an eight inch and a twelve inch pan. I'm sure I will own all the sizes soon enough.Date published: 2016-11-02Rated 5 out of 5 by jccwc from If you treat it right, it will treat you right. I bought the 10 inch skillet several years ago and it is a real trooper. It takes a little bit to heat up, but once it does it does a great job of keeping the heat. I also use it on my BBQ where it's perfect for items that drip grease, making a deep dish pizza, or fish that falls apart easily on a grill. Remember never to soak it in water or you'll cause it to rust, and will then have to do some work to get it back in shape. Just scrape out those bits left over and give it a good wipe down. This will help keep it seasoned and make it naturally non-stick.Date published: 2016-09-22Rated 5 out of 5 by deanja from lodge cast iron I LOVE all my lodge cast iron pans. Once you season the pans some more as per instructions on the web, they cook fabulously, clean up with just water and a stiff brush. Dry thoroughly and then wipe with a thin layer of oil and then they are ready for the next time. I am slowly getting a full set! I do not cook with any other pan!! They will last for a last time if you treat them well! I bought them when William Somona has offered sales on the Lodge pans, and I am already a huge fan of their great products, having bought quite a number of them, usually on sale!Date published: 2016-08-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Gee01 from Great fry pan this pan was excellent for frying fish. Washes easily with hot water and a sponge. the next day we made scrambled eggs. cooking a steak tonight.Date published: 2016-08-01Rated 5 out of 5 by happywoman57 from The original non-stick pan I love my new 12" skillet! It is so simple: heat, add your favorite oil/butter (just enough for a thin coating) and then cook. I love doing scrambled eggs or omelets. They never stick. When I clean it, I use a soft green scrubbie with a little bit of liquid Dawn. Wash, rinse and place on stove with the heat on low to dry. By the time I am done with the rest of the dish, the pan is cool enough to put away. Though, I must admit that I keep it on the stove all the time since I use it every day. I bought this skillet because of the extra little handle so that I can easily pick it up. My only wish is that this skillet had a cover. Thank you, Lodge.Date published: 2016-07-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Ashe1990 from Best for breakfast I purchased this cast iron pan not because I needed a new one but because I needed one with a flat bottom. There isn't really much one can say about a cast iron pans. You either like them or you don't. I like this pan. It's a nice size, fits a standard burner perfectly, heats evenly. It is quite heavy but with the extra small handle is easier to pick up and move about. I have washed it per instructions except I do use soap on the outside. I'm a messy cook. I also purchased one for my granddaughter. Her word for it is "amazing".Date published: 2016-07-27Rated 5 out of 5 by JohnThomas1 from What a pan While some may say the care required is inconvienent - the versatility and consistent quality results far out weigh this. While it might take a little practice to get use to since you can cook at lower temperatures it's heat retention and distribution are worth it. And the price cannot be beaten.Date published: 2016-07-03Rated 4 out of 5 by TexasFrench from Cast Iron PAn Loved that pan-takes me back almost 30 years when I last owned one of these.
