Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimmyjames417 from Great product Before I write my review, I just want to let everyone know, I did smooth my skillets out at home. Meaning it no longer has the factory cooking surface on it, Prior to doing this, I had it for a month and it worked great. I just could not get over the texture of the cooking surface. I then decided to smooth it out using an angle grinder and a flapper wheel. It works just as good with the added benefit of a smoother surface. It took on my seasoning well after I smoothed it and has worked brilliantly since I modified it. Just keep it oiled, keep it seasoned, modifications are optional, but all in all, this is a great product.Date published: 2016-11-29Rated 1 out of 5 by Tawhite from My steak pan Much too heavy and is not non stick. Hard to clean. Sorry I bought it.Date published: 2016-11-24Rated 5 out of 5 by CookExtroidinaire from Thick cuts benefit from lodge cast-iron Grill Pan With a simple seasoning on the room temperature meat, on an oiled grill pan I brown the protein for about five to eight minutes on one side, then turn onto the other side, turn the stove off and pop the grill pan into a pre heated 350 degree oven for about 15 to 25 minutes depending on the volume of protein. Then I pull it out and let it rest for ten minutes on the grill pan on top of the stove. It comes out perfect every time. The pan also catches the drippings. The handles are easy to hold, the grill pan is the perfect weight and also super easy to clean and store. It was thoughtfully designed and almost instantly became one of my new favorites. To clean, sometimes I wipe it down with a paper towel, other times I rinse and scrub with water, a drop of soap and a brush or plastic pan scraper then dry immediately and rub oil with a paper towel.Date published: 2016-11-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Ateco845 from Excellent product This is a wonderful product. Food doesn't stick and it cooks up perfectly. Chicken and fish come out delicious and juicy. I'm somewhat new to using cast iron, so there is a bit of a learning curve. If you've never used cast iron before, do a bit of research about using it before you buy. Remember, oil the pan and heat it up until it is very hot! You can turn down the heat later, but the pan must be hot. Also, DO NOT PRESS DOWN on the food and DO NOT MOVE THE FOOD around, otherwise it will stick to the pan. You must let the food cook for a bit, a "crust" will be created and the food will release quickly and easily. After washing the pan, DRY IT IMMEDIATELY. This is a wonderful product and I recommend it.Date published: 2016-06-21Rated 5 out of 5 by darinrohrer from Wonderful Product Recently purchased this item and used it for the first time this week to make two KC strips. It worked well beyond my expectations. Simply brush on a small amount of veggie oil on the grill after it is super hot, brush your meat with a bit of olive oil! No sticking at all and perfect grill marks. Afterwards cleaning was simple (provided you don't wait along) just wipe it down with a paper towel, reapply some oil and be done.Date published: 2015-01-04Rated 1 out of 5 by Bioya1 from Worst Item I Ever Purchased At WS The woman in the WS store in Oak Brook said she swore by hers. I swear at mine. Have tried steaks, chops and burgers in the thing. As a cooking device, it is completely useless. Everything sticks to it. You cannot truly clean it so it actually smells rank after few days. It overcooks food. If I could figure out how to clean it, I'd return it. Since I can't clean it, its going into the garbage. A complete rip off.Date published: 2015-01-01Rated 1 out of 5 by tjfoster62 from very disappointed When my pan first arrived the handle was broken in half. I should have simply returned it for a refund but I exchanged it for at a store. I used it and although I oiled it and sprayed it first my boneless chicken stuck. I was unable to clean it completely and it is now rusted. I am going to have to make a trip back up the Mall to return it. I am very disappointedDate published: 2013-12-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Lbattlewins from Overjoyed with this purchase! I purchased this grille for my husband on fathers day because we are always going to the barbecue area of the community we live in. A friend suggested it after she saw it advertised. So, I decided to give it a try. Last night was our first time using it and we grilled some porkchops. All I can say is this grill is incredible! The markings the grill left on the porkchops were better than the barbecue grill. The heat evenly distributed so it didn't overcook and the flavor was absolutely wonderful. The next night we used it again to cook ribeye steaks, they were the best steaks that we have ever had. I can't wait to use it again. I can already tell it's going to be my favorite cookware. My family is in love with this grille and I'm so glad that I decided to buy it. Be careful the handle gets extremely hot so always use mits.Date published: 2013-06-23
