- More about Le Creuset
The first Le Creuset foundry opened in 1925 in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France, and specialized in cast-iron cookware. The cast-iron pieces are still made at the original factory, using the traditional techniques of hand forging and casting in individual sand molds. The brightly pigmented porcelain-enamel glaze that first set Le Creuset cookware apart from other cast-iron cookware now comes in a wide range of traditional and contemporary colors. In 2013, Le Creuset began producing innovative stainless-steel cookware in Portugal with lids that incorporate the same signature three-ring design as the company’s classic cast-iron pieces. This stainless-steel collection was awarded the prestigious 2014 Red Dot Award for product design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jhmme from Highly Recommend I wish I knew about La Creuset 25 years ago. If so, I'd be a good cook now and not a novice! I've struggled cooking a decent roast forever. My first attempt with the Oval Covered Casserole and my roast was perfect! Moist, tender, just perfect. My Thanksgiving turkey (although it had to be small to fit in dish) was perfect. Clean up was beyond easy. I absolutely recommend the bakeware.Date published: 2017-01-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Thesaint from Great Casserole Very stylish and good for cooking for 4 people. Very easy to handle and in great colors.Date published: 2015-09-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Liltif7 from Best dish ever! I love how nice this looks from the oven to the table... It cleans up so easily, nothing sticks to it. It's great to have a tight fitting cover, and can go from the refrigerator to the oven to the table!Date published: 2015-05-24Rated 5 out of 5 by OzarkArkie from Everyone needs one of these! I roast a chicken in this oval cassarole every Sunday, and it is delectable every Sunday. Looks gorgeous on the table, too.Date published: 2015-01-20Rated 5 out of 5 by Ellenjc from finally Le Crueset in my kichen I just got my first le Crueset casserole dish.. It was worth the wait it cleans well and bakes well.Date published: 2015-01-20Rated 5 out of 5 by mwe527 from Multipurpose: Oven to Table I've cooked/baked using my mother's LC stoneware before, but this is the first piece in my own collection. I purchased this specifically to make stuffing for Thanksgiving, but I foresee myself using this many times in the future--in first week of owning this dish, I've used it 3 times. It's the perfect size for preparing WS focaccia stuffing, by the way. It's easy to use and easy to clean, which is a huge benefit. The lid also makes it easy to transport dishes. My favorite part is that it can go directly from the oven to the table and you can serve out of it...no need to dirty more bowls! The ocean color is two-tone and unique. I will definitely buy more of these versatile pieces.Date published: 2014-11-29Rated 5 out of 5 by TracyD888 from LOVE this....but it broke. :( This is an AWESOME dish....I have been saving up to get it...its my FIRST le Creuset!! I wouldn't even put it up in the cabinet...because I just wanted to LOOK at it!! I was soooooo excited! I had never roasted a whole chicken before...so I did. And I took it out of the oven....perfection! I almost cried I was sooo excited! then........the worst happened. I took the chicken out of this fabulous dish...to rest. I placed the dish on the eye of my stove to warm the juices and add a slurry to it to make a gravy... yeah...did not realize you couldn't put it on the eye (you can with the cast iron I come to find out).. and it popped...cracked....I grabbed it and put in sink and it broke in half. I cried. My one and only meal in my long awaited le Crueset. I know this was my fault. I thought I had read everything on it. I was so pumped to finally get one. boo. sad day.Date published: 2014-09-04Rated 5 out of 5 by lemonygold from Beautiful cocette This is my very first Le Creuset piece.
