If within 30 days, you are dissatisfied for any reason, you may return your purchase for a refund of the merchandise value. An original receipt or gift receipt is required for all returns and exchanges. Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the amount indicated on the gift receipt. Returns with original receipt will be refunded in the original form of payment, cash and check refunds over $100 will be issued as a company check (may take 14 business days from time of request).

Snowflake Cake with Brandy Butter Glaze

Have all the ingredients at room temperature.

Position a rack in the lower third of an oven and preheat to 325ºF. Grease and flour a 10-cup snowflake cake pan.

To make the cake, over a sheet of waxed paper, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

In a small bowl, combine the milk, cognac and vanilla and stir to combine. Set aside.

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the flat beater, beat the butter on medium speed until creamy and smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes; stop the mixer occasionally and scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the eggs and egg yolk one at a time, beating well after each addition. Reduce the speed to low and add the flour mixture, alternating with the milk mixture and beginning and ending with the flour. Beat each addition just until incorporated, stopping the mixer occasionally and scraping down the sides of the bowl. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and, using a rubber spatula, spread the batter so the sides are slightly higher than the center.

Bake until the center of the cake springs back when lightly touched, 35 to 40 minutes. Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let the cake cool upright in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then tap the pan gently on a work surface to loosen the cake. Set the rack over a sheet of waxed paper, invert the pan onto the rack and lift off the pan.

To make the glaze, in a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, brandy and sugar. Cook, stirring, until the butter has melted and most of the sugar has dissolved, about 3 minutes. Brush the warm cake with the glaze. Let the cake cool completely before serving. Get the full snowflake cake with brandy-butter glaze recipe.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grinder Rules - Vital But Simple When you use this grinder you must think ahead - if for meat (which is really my only use) be sure to have that product chilled to a just under frozen state. Be sure you clean everything immediately after use - this is just Kitchen 101, people, but raw meat and gears must be dealt with! With fatter recipes it can help to soak the pieces in the usual fat-fighting dish soap. Just do not procrastinate. Keep all the pieces together - there are a few. I clean all, dry all, then bag them together for storage. You might forget what that sharp little cross was for if its in your misc. drawer. Yes, if you run it too hard/hot or the meat isn't cold you may find some of the lubricant in your food product. Take it out and move on, knowing you neglected the grinder rules.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weird packaging I ordered this on black friday and when it came the box was rattling. None of the parts were wrapped in plastic and no styrofoam was in the box. I was a little confused, but all the parts are there and it seems to be working correctly. The parts were hard to fit back in the box, so I doubt that I will be storing it in the original container for very long.

Ground 4# of Chicken, then re ground it with spices,rice and beans to make my Chicken Burgers. SOOOO easy-to-use! SOOOO easy to clean! My arms were saying Thank You! Don't know why I didn't get this sooner!

I reached out to KitchenAid regarding the gunk in my meat and here was their response: Thank you for your recent inquiry addressed to KitchenAid. We appreciate the opportunity to assist you. The FGA housing has an oil impregnated copper bearing that can produce an oily discharge when it becomes warm. The oil will be present in the item being ground, the oil is FDA approved, so it will not harm the consumer if digested. When using the grinder, we recommend that you use very cold/partially frozen meat. This can help prevent this from happening.     Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to grind meat at home easily & quickly This is a great product and a very good deal for the quality. We keep all of the grinder parts stored in the freezer and we put strips of meat in freezer for 15-40 minutes before grinding. If you do this and make sure that you cut off most of the tendon/sinew/ligaments, it works like a charm (and it even works surprisingly well when I've been a tiny bit lazy on that task too). Grinds meat so quickly and effortlessly that we don't plan to buy pre-ground meat again. Quick and easy cleanup too.
