- Chocolate Peppermint Crinkles
Place the chocolate in the top pan of a double boiler set over but not touching barely simmering water and heat, stirring occasionally, until melted. Let cool slightly.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
In another large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat together the eggs and granulated sugar until well blended. Add the oil, vanilla and melted chocolate and beat until well blended. Stir in the flour mixture just until fully incorporated. Cover and refrigerate until the dough is firm enough to shape, at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.
Preheat an oven to 350°F (180°C).
If using whole peppermint candies, place them between 2 sheets of aluminum foil and strike with a hammer or meat mallet, breaking them into large pieces. Then roll the candies with a rolling pin to crush them into small pieces. Set aside.
Put the confectioners’ sugar in a shallow bowl. Pinch off a piece of dough and roll it into a ball about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. Roll the ball in the confectioners’ sugar, coating evenly, and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough, spacing the balls 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart.
Bake until the cookies have puffed up and the surface cracks, showing the chocolate beneath, 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool slightly on the pan and then gently press some of the crushed peppermint all over each cookie. Transfer the cookies to wire racks and let cool completely. Store in layers, separated by waxed paper, in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Makes about 48 cookies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TKOhome from Champagne KitchenAid Design Received this mixer this week. I have had one other KitchenAid and gave it to my sister as she loved the mint green color. I decided to buy Champagne without being able to see the color and I am so glad I did! It is a beautiful slightly golden taupe. It is darker than the image and again I was banking on it being darker! Love it!!Date published: 2016-01-14Rated 4 out of 5 by MindyB from Great machine but . . . We all know that KitchenAid is a great product, however I was very disappointed when I opened my box and found that the blades look VERY cheap. They are grey metal and are not coated with the white stuff you typically see on blades you can buy individually.Date published: 2016-01-12Rated 5 out of 5 by susiegirl from Wonderful Product I've had stand mixers before and sold my other mixer because I move and would be to big, saw the champagne with glass bowl fell in love. Better size then the 6 quart stand mixer. Love it.Date published: 2015-04-10Rated 4 out of 5 by IHawken from A Great Mixer I believe the mixer is great and I love the glass bowl. However, when mine was delivered the wire whipping attachment was bent and it doesn't work properly.Date published: 2014-10-20Rated 3 out of 5 by Betsy57 from Disappointed I am disappointed in the mixer. I had hopes to be able to stop having to knead my bread by hand (Okay, I'm trying to cheat) but all the dough does is stick to the hook and swirls around the bowl even after spaying it with Pam. It isn't kneading it. For other uses, it is okay. Definitely disappointed and would not have bought it had I known its vast limitations.Date published: 2014-06-26Rated 5 out of 5 by sweetbakersara from love this mixer I love this mixer! I've had KitchenAid mixers for over 30 years. They never wear out, but I always want a new model with a bigger bowl or pretty color. The blueberry color is gorgeous, the glass bowl is beautiful, although a little tricky to attach at first. Now I have two KA mixers on my counter. You never know when you'll need two mixers!Date published: 2013-07-30Rated 1 out of 5 by UnhappywithKitchenAid from Very Disappointed I was given a mixer as a wedding give just over 25 years ago. I was very happy with that mixer, but the motor eventually died. I replaced it with this mixer and am very disappointed in this mixer. It is not the mixer that I've had all these years. The glass bowel does not seat well, which I can get used to. However, the beaters are not dishwasher safe and have deteriorated to the point where they are useless. The flat beater no longer fits in the mixer because of corrosion (I can attach my 25 year old beater) and the wisk beater leaves a black residue on my hands. The metal is clearly inappropriate for kitchen electrics. Kitchen aid has offered to replace the flat beater with a white one but will not replace both. Absurd for a $400 mixer.Date published: 2012-12-31Rated 5 out of 5 by bettycrocker103 from I am absolutely in love with this mixer! I saw this in the store last Christmas and fell in love. So, at the end of May I gifted Mom my white KitchenAid and splurged on this baby. I couldn't be happier. Not only does it work like a charm, but it looks FABULOUS sitting on my kitchen counter! The pink has a hint of metallic in it, which just adds to it's beauty. Great buy!Date published: 2012-06-10
