Rated 5 out of 5 by lilamaxwell from Making sauce and jelly easy If you make tomato sauce or jelly this product is for you. I save hours of time with this press, no peeling, or seeding, it gets done with the turn of a handle. It is very easy to clean, all the parts come apart easily. No problem sliding on counter , just moisten the bottom and it sticks and stays in one spot. ,Date published: 2016-08-16Rated 5 out of 5 by Dunboy from Handy Little Tool Sadly the part that connects to the suction cup broke. I'd try to crazy glue it but I don't believe that will last. So I'm ordering a new one. I have n regrets on the performance over the years. I can't eat the tomato seeds and this removes them all. So, while I'm upset it broke, I'm ordering a new one. By the way, it holds tight to my granite counter. Cleaning and re-assemble are not difficult. Easier than the meat grinder on my Kitchen Aid. (I grind my own meat)Date published: 2015-01-11Rated 5 out of 5 by jmwr from Italian tomato press I purchased this tomato juicer in the mid 1980's. Since then each year I have made juice for 100 to 125 quarts of tomato juice. I have used other juicers with relatives and none are as good as this one. It attaches fine to my granite countertop. It does require a few minutes to take apart and clean, but has cleaned up great for 25 years.Date published: 2014-11-19Rated 1 out of 5 by anntdotes from I wanted to like this, but... I wanted to like this Italian Tomato Press. I really did - so much when I received it, I tossed the box and packing slip. (Okay, dumb - I know.) Several days after receiving the press, I used it. It was easy to assemble. Sadly, it would not 'grip' my granite counter. I had to hold the press down with my forearm. Also, it was a chore to clean. That is all the bad news. The good news is the press does seed and discard the peels fairly well. More good news is the W-S Cusomer Service. When I emailed with my experience, Customer Service told me to re-package the press, including my purchase information on the inside of the box. UPS is scheduled to pick up the box, today. for a full refund. Perhaps, you will have better luck with the press. If not, Customer Service is available to help you..Date published: 2014-09-29Rated 5 out of 5 by BlueRibbonCanner from Tried and True Tomato Press I have had this Italian Tomato Press for many years and it's in use every canning season. A previous reviewer found it a challenge to place the receiving bowl. I use a large 9 x 13 baking dish under the sauce spout and a heavy duty plastic bag under the discard spout. I secure the plastic bag up and under the discard spout and put the top of the bag over the mill hopper and hold it in place while I turn. Sounds complicated but it isn't and after many years I'm glad this year I stumbled on this method. Now if someone could tell me how to clean the darn thing I'd really appreciate it. I lost the directions and can't figure out how to unscrew anything. I use very hot water over and over getting out all the tomato seeds and skins but it's time consuming.Date published: 2014-09-12Rated 5 out of 5 by TNWildflowers from Extremely Happy I have made tomato sauce which is now simmering into a marinara for dinner and applesauce. I used raw tomatoes and cooked apples. Both were a total success. I passed the tomatoes through the press 2 or 3 times to get all the juiciness. I may just give my food mill to Goodwill! It holds securely to the counter with the vacuum and didn't even balk too badly at some of the tougher tomato pieces. It is a challenge to figure out how to clean it at first, but it went back together very nicely. Also, it took some maneuvering to get the bowls situated so that none of the peels ended up in the sauce, but it wasn't over-burdensome. Next I'm trying concord grapes to make jam. So very happy with my new tool.Date published: 2013-08-22Rated 5 out of 5 by Rlupo from Should have had one years ago Cannot say enough about how great this is! Removes and separates skin and seeds for the best sauce ever. Easy to use and clean. Love that it has a suction cup which does not budge, no need to scratch the counter tops with the old style clamp on attachment. Love it so much that I bought a second one. Not that I think it will break, it is very sturdy. I just cannot bear the thought of being without one for any reason now! I may buy more to give as gifts. Worth every cent at this reasonable price.Date published: 2012-11-30Rated 5 out of 5 by Bethdh from Great Tool I just used this to make a batch of tomato sauce. It is very sturdy, heavy duty plastic unlike most stuff you find. The only problem was that some of the skins get stuck on their way out. This does not affect the flow of the garbage but you can't release them until you take the machine apart to clean it. Its not really a big deal. The other thing is the garbage spout is very close to the sauce spout so you just have to watch your bowl because sometime the garbage falls into the bowl. It has heavy duty suction, you can lift the table! It is very easy to clean. The WHOLE thing comes apart pretty easily to be cleaned. I'm looking forward to using it for more tomato sauce and for apple sauce this fall!Date published: 2012-08-13
