More than simply a beautiful hand-carved bowl, this rustic piece is a unique story of destruction and opportunity. Artist Topher DesPrés salvages wood from among the thousands of trees that were downed in New York City by Hurricane Sandy, transforming what would otherwise have been wreckage into one-of-a-kind works of art. The bottom of each bowl is etched with "Hurricane Sandy" and the name of the place where the wood was found. 20% of the proceeds from the sale of these bowls will be donated to the New York Restoration Project—read more about the cause at www.nyrp.org. Each piece is unique, made of a different wood, and measures approximately 9" to 11" diam. Hand wash and air dry; do not soak. Made in USA.
