Rated 5 out of 5 by LONETREERUNNER from Great pancake miix The pancakes are light. airy, fluffy with great flavor. Done at a light golden brown color. Adding your own butter, milk, and eggs does allows you to personalize it to your standards. Like using European butter(french), free-range eggs and farm fresh milk for richer flavor!Date published: 2017-01-05Rated 4 out of 5 by DotComCTO from Still a good pancake mix Everyone is right in saying that the recipe changed. Before, if you wanted just a few pancakes you could use half a cup of mix. Now, the minimum is 1 cup of mix, along with milk, egg & melted butter. My batch yielded 6 pancakes. This mix tastes better than the original due to the added flavor from the butter, milk and egg. Still very easy to put together, but I don't think they're any fluffier than the prior recipe. As for people complaining about being salty, I didn't experience that. It could be that those people were using salted butter. NEVER use salted butter when baking/cooking. Always use UNsalted. Verdict: Worth it if you don't mind making 6 pancakes with a little bit of extra work & cleanup.Date published: 2016-01-03Rated 1 out of 5 by Jocey from Horrible new flavor please bring back old mix Purchased two cans horrible new flavor taste salty and pancakes are flat. Won't be buying again. Until the old mix comes back. Disappointed :-(Date published: 2015-04-19Rated 1 out of 5 by Fuzzinit from IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT! Why on Earth would you change the recipe? I've been buying this pancake mix for years-- the perfection of it was the ease and quality. I simply added milk and we had delicious pancakes. Now, as the other reviews have stated, you have to add milk, eggs and butter. The person in your test kitchen or in market research who suggested this change has some explaining to do. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD RECIPE!Date published: 2015-04-15Rated 1 out of 5 by Liz2 from Disappointing bring back the old recipe. I have been buying this mix for years but no more. The other reviewers are correct. And having to add milk, butter, and eggs is not what I want to do.Date published: 2014-12-13Rated 1 out of 5 by logan2481 from Why Mess with Purfection I have purchased this product for years. I love how easy they were to make and had the best taste. Was on my way to purchase more but now that I have read these reviews and the act the taste is not there and now you have to add milk, butter and eggs, is very disappointing. I won't be buying until WS goes back to original product Why did WS have to screw up a really great product????Date published: 2014-08-30Rated 1 out of 5 by Marlark from Why change the best pancake mix ever? I'm so glad I read the other reviews...I also noticed something wasn't right about my favorite pancake mix. I have been using this mix for over 15 years....i would buy it by the case....the pancakes were airy, fluffy delicious....and all you added was water and butter....then they tampered with it....and ruined it. Maybe the company will read its own reviews and bring back the old mix. There was no need to change a really great thing.Date published: 2014-07-21Rated 1 out of 5 by Aurelio from Bring back old recipe! Since the change, from" just add water" to adding "egg, butter and milk," the pancakes turn out flat, and just won't rise. I've been a user since 2000 and always had great results. First I thought the can I was using was old, or expired but after opening the second one and noticing the change in preparation instructions I confirmed something was different.Date published: 2014-06-18
