- Arugula Orange Salad Pomegranate Vinaigrette
To make the vinaigrette, carefully remove the skin from the pomegranate. Working over a sieve placed over a bowl to catch the juices, peel away the thick membrane from the pomegranate seeds and allow the loosened seeds to collect in the sieve. Measure 1/3 cup of the seeds and reserve for garnish. Press on the remaining seeds with the back of a spoon to release about 2 Tbs. juice. Discard the crushed seeds.
Add the olive oil, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper to the pomegranate juice. Whisk until blended.
Using a small, sharp knife, cut a slice off the top and bottom of each orange to expose the flesh. Place each orange upright on a cutting board and thickly slice off the peel in strips, following the contour of the orange to expose the flesh. Holding the orange over a large bowl, cut along either side of each section, letting the section drop into the bowl. Add the arugula and red onion, separating the onion slices into rings. Drizzle the dressing over the salad, then toss to coat evenly.
Divide the salad among individual plates, distributing the orange sections evenly. Garnish with the reserved pomegranate seeds. Serve immediately. Get the full arugula-orange salad with pomegranate-white wine vinaigrette recipe.
Rated 5 out of 5 by nvoperaguy from best toaster ever Purchased this at WS in 1996 and it has been used all the time with great results not only does it make perfect toast it looks like a million love it!Date published: 2017-02-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Gaela from Love this toaster! I bought this toaster in 1995! I had seen one while visiting Harrod's in London, but couldn't have it converted to American current. I was so happy when I found it at Williams-Sonoma in New Orleans and I had it shipped to Missouri. This is a toaster that will last for generations.Date published: 2016-09-01Rated 4 out of 5 by upscalebohemian from Recommended, with Caveats Stylish and works well after a bit of a learning curve. Keep in mind there's no mechanism to keep slices of bread centered, so bread will toast unevenly unless you cut the bread to about the width of the slot. The knob for raising the bread to check on its progress is a great feature. Dualit makes an optional sandwich cage for making grilled sandwiches right in the toaster, and a warming rack to sit over two slots and toast a thick bagel (cut side down). Both perform well. Keep in mind all parts on this toaster can be replaced for decades. You buy the part from Dualit and have an electrician do the simple repairs. I’m very happy with mine, and like that all parts are replaceable and that it will still be working for decades.Date published: 2015-11-05Rated 1 out of 5 by MaisieMM from Well over rated!!! I've owned this toaster for 15 years. Paid about 10 times more than it was worth. While it did cook toast evenly, thats about it. Style is fun to look at but hey, there are plenty of nice looking toasters on the market. We had a hard time justifying buying a new one since this one was an investment . . . but finally did with a better toaster for less than $100.00. I would not consider giving this to a friend. Very disappointed. Sorry DualitDate published: 2015-05-08Rated 1 out of 5 by K8JZC from Overpriced and defective I bought this to replace my old toaster of 11 years. From the get go it was faulty. You have to "warm the toaster" by letting it run for 30 seconds then can officially toast your toast. Well, my toaster would freeze up and so I would have to turn the dial further back and it would run a few seconds then freeze up again. After 3 months of doing this I had had it. Dualit was soo rude to me and actually asked if I was "mechanically inclined" to fix it myself! So I called WS and they gave me a full refund. But for the record in the owners manual it says to contact Dualit not WS. Glad I called WS they took care of me!!Date published: 2015-01-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Perty from Perfect Toast Every Time Our family had been without this toaster for a few years and then we found it again at your online store. The children said we had to get it. If they raved about it the toaster must have been good! So, we ordered it. I don't think you could go wrong with this toaster. The Dualit company is serious about toasting bread.Date published: 2014-03-03
