Rated 5 out of 5 by DCBaker from Great mandoline! This is the third mandoline I've owned and by far the best. Excellent quality and had no trouble with the attachments as others had mentioned. It slices through veggies like butter!Date published: 2017-01-08Rated 1 out of 5 by AnthonyA from Not Sturdy Enough Used for Beets and Potatoes but there are some small plastic pieces which did not hold up well. Once broken, the whole unit is of no use. I will try to contact WS to see if they can help but I would not recommend this plastic version especially at this higher price point.Date published: 2016-11-26Rated 3 out of 5 by ccr213 from works great... until it BREAKS! first off, i love this slicer! it has everything i've been looking for. had a Pampered Chef one for years and always felt it was cheaply made and flimsy. so when i finally decided to buy a new one, i knew i was going to invest in a higher end model. i thought this was it! first use, i minced onion and was absolutely DELIGHTED with the results! very easy... beautiful and even! today when i went to use it to slice beets, i noticed the piece that attaches the plane of the blade to the "dicer action" was BROKEN! fortunately, i just called WS and they are already sending me my replacement. i hope this isn't a common issue with this product (i guess i will have to wait and see!), but am SO glad i purchased through WS since they are so diligent with their customer satisfaction! TY WS!Date published: 2014-07-06Rated 5 out of 5 by PatMc from Sturdy, well built I have had no difficulties inserting blades or adjusting the machine. I like the handle because it allows me to really bear down when I push the vegetable holder down the slide. I wore a protective glove but did not need it. This machine is sturdily built out of thick plastic which does not flex or warp during use. I bought another brand at the same time for comparison---and sent the other one back. The difference in quality was evident.Date published: 2012-10-18Rated 2 out of 5 by lovestocook247 from Very hard to remove and insert blades This mandoline sliced, diced, and julienned everything beautifully. It was very easy to figure out how to use the different blades and set the height. Inserting and removing the blades was another story. I read the book, watched the video, and still had a huge problem. The v-slicer was the worst to insert. The plastic frame seemed to be slightly too small to insert the blade easily. I had my husband try it, as well as the salesperson at William Sonoma. Neither one of them was able to remove the blades or insert them. I was able to do it eventually, but it took a long time, and more effort than it was worth. Maybe a metal frame would be better. It's a shame because once the blades were in it worked better than any mandoline I've ever used. Unfortunately I had to return it.Date published: 2012-09-07
