- Indian Fish Curry Recipe
Make the curry base
In a deep fry pan or wok over medium-low heat, warm the oil. Add the onion, garlic and ginger and cook until the onion is soft but not browned, about 5 minutes. Stir in the curry powder and cook for 1 minute. Add the coconut milk, chilies and 1 tsp. of the salt. Cook until fragrant and slightly thickened, about 15 minutes.
Season the fish
Meanwhile, place the fish in a shallow bowl. Sprinkle with the turmeric and the remaining 1/2 tsp. salt and toss to coat evenly.
Finish the curry
Add the tomatoes, lemon juice and hot water to the curry base and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt. Add the fish to the curry and cook until it begins to flake apart, about 5 minutes. Transfer to plates and serve. Serves 4.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cook from Junk This was given to us as a gift. Every time I need to blend dry ingredients, flour goes flying out the top through the connections. It's a mess and all the parts are made of very cheap plastic.Date published: 2017-02-17Rated 5 out of 5 by AnOkCook from Very useful I purchased two of these for Christmas presents. Both of the recipients love them and have started to appreciate their utility.Date published: 2017-01-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Psychotherapist from "Cuisinart Elemental 8-cup Food Processor" "WOW!!! We absolutely LOVE this food processor. This is our very first food processor (having grown up in the restaurant business) and we LOVE it!!! We've already made several desserts, salad stuff and pasta with this wonderful Cuisinart. So convenient, easy to use and easy to clean. We're looking forward to making lots of tasty and wonderful dishes. Thanks Williams-Sonoma and Cuisinart!!! Enjoy!!! Take good care..."Date published: 2016-09-06Rated 2 out of 5 by Ediepro from Too small capacity Had to return it. Though described as an 8 cup processor, in reality the container is 8 cups but only can process up to 4 cups liquid. Needed for processing tomatoes from garden for freezing. I already have a mini processor and you can only process max of 4 cups when liquid. Also want for meal preparations for company and simply too small. It is misleading to describe it as an 8 cup processor or not allow the measurement markings to be visible in the picture.Date published: 2016-08-06Rated 4 out of 5 by aprilrenee from Tricky First-time Use I just got this food processor so I can't speak to its longevity, but it did a great job of blending my ingredients evenly and quickly. I wanted to review it so that others don't spend 20 minutes trying to turn it on like I did. When you lock the lid, THE SPOUT MUST BE DIRECTLY OVER THE HANDLE. Otherwise it is not correctly locked and the safety feature will prevent it from running. I really thought I'd gotten a lemon until I figured this out. Good luck!Date published: 2016-07-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Elbee530 from Best processor ever! This food processor is big, easy to use and simple to clean. Makes meal preps simple and food by far taste better because you really are working whichever ingredients you are putting in there. I love it!Date published: 2016-04-26Rated 5 out of 5 by ArkansasLady from Excellent Quality It never ceases to amaze me how someone can rate an item they have never used. We bought this food processor to replace a 30 year old one that broke and could no longer find parts for. We knew we did not want to buy another large capacity one since our children are grown and gone, but we did not want one that was too little and struggled to do the job. After research we came up with this one. I went to William-Somona and looked at it. The first thing that struck me was how well made and solid it was. I wanted it in white to match my Blender that sets next to it and they did not have it in the store so I had it shipped to me. It arrived safely and we are thrilled at the quality. It comes with two discs that are reversible, really like having four discs. I've sliced potatoes and carrots for soups and stews. I've shredded cheeses. I've used the chopping blade for nuts and canned tomatoes. I like the fact it does not feel cheaply made. We are very happy with our purchase.Date published: 2016-01-02Rated 1 out of 5 by DJT1 from Waste of money Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my daughter last year and has never worked. Motor works until you put the bowl on it and then it does not work. Cuisinart is not being very helpful, has been a total waste of money.Date published: 2015-11-19
