The secret to their beguiling flavor and texture lies in the quality and freshness of the ingredients Frey uses and the care she takes in preparing them from scratch. Hand mixed and hand rolled, each cookie has one-of-a-kind character with a delicate, flaky golden-brown exterior and a soft caramelized interior. They are moist and buttery, with a nutty sweet flavor and hint of cinnamon. Serve with coffee or tea at breakfast or alongside a bowl of vanilla ice cream.     • The butterhorns ship at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store at room temperature, where they will keep up to 45 days unopened, or up to 2 weeks opened. Once opened, store the cookies in an airtight container.

Christine Falatico Frey developed an obsession with Italian food at an early age. As a child, she visited her grandparents in New York and watched her grandma make butterhorns: “You have to watch me or you won’t learn how to make them!” her grandmother told her. Christine learned the trick, made the cookies for loved ones for years, and today brings them to a larger (and grateful) audience nationwide.
