These distinctive French stoneware serving pieces echo the conical silhouettes of traditional Moroccan cooking vessels known as tagines. Artisans shape and glaze the serveware entirely by hand, using an intricate 17-step process to create the unique “crackled” appearance and creamy richness of color. The insides of the bowl and both sides of the lid are glazed, while the exterior of the bowl is left unglazed to showcase the clay’s natural matte bisque. Extremely durable and chip-resistant, these special “serving tagines” are crafted in the south of France at the award-winning Jars Céramistes, founded in 1857. Microwavable and dishwasher safe – not intended for cooking. Small: 17-oz. cap; 7 1/2" diam., 6" high. Large: 50-oz. cap; 11" diam.; 8 1/2" high.
