Receiving Instructions

• The cake is shipped frozen with ice packs. Upon receipt, remove cake from the shipping carton and remove packaging but leave plastic wrapping intact. Immediately place in the refrigerator if serving within 3 days of receipt; otherwise, store in the freezer for up to three months.

Preparation

• Defrost the frozen cake overnight in the refrigerator. Approximately 2 hours prior to serving time, take the thawed cake out and immediately remove wrapping. This is best done while the icing is chilled so the wrapping will not peel it off. For optimum flavor, bring the cake to room temperature.
• Your cake is decorated with fresh greenery. Remove the greenery prior to slicing and serving. The greenery is for decorative purposes only. Do not consume. The meringue mushrooms are completely edible and should be placed on the cake to garnish before serving.
• When it's time to cut the cake, run a large knife under hot water and dry it with a towel before slicing each piece. Return any unused portions to the refrigerator. We recommend allowing the cake to chill prior to wrapping with clean plastic wrap, so that the wrap does not stick to the icing and peel it off when removed the next time it is served.
