Summary

A sweet, yeast-leavened cake, babka is traditional at many types of holiday celebrations in Eastern Europe. A soft brioche-like dough is filled with homemade candied orange zest, chocolate chunks and ganache made from locally sourced Tcho chocolate, and then folded into individual tulip-shaped baking cups. Before baking, the babkas are topped with a toasted-almond streusel. The babkas are made by The Bread Project in Emeryville, California, a nonprofit that trains people with limited resources in the art of baking, helping them develop expert job skills for working in the food industry.

Care

This TCHO chocolate babka ships at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, store the babka at room temperature for up to 4 days, in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 1 month, wrapped airtight.
