Our generously sized bench adds an efficient, professional-style workstation to your kitchen without the costs of a built-in island. To create its exclusive design and features, Williams-Sonoma collaborated with John Boos, a company known since 1887 for crafting fine wood furnishings for the kitchen. Modeled after traditional butcher shop fixtures, the top is crafted from laminated blocks of northern hard rock maple and includes a carving well at one end. End-grain construction (with a vertically cut wood grain) makes for the strongest cutting surface – one that is exceptionally durable, resistant to nicks and scratches and gentle on knives. Three maple drawers store tools, and two towel bars keep dishcloths and hanging utensils in quick reach. The bottom shelf, constructed from maple slats, is strong enough to hold appliances and heavy equipment. Built with a frame of stainless steel, the bench rests on adjustable floor glides for stability. To preserve the wood's quality, periodic application of lemon oil or food-safe mineral oil is recommended. Assembly required. 60" x 28" x 36" high. This item will be shipped directly from the manufacturer and is not eligible for rush shipping. Please allow four to six weeks for delivery. Item arrives fully assembled and in one piece by our in-home White-Glove Delivery service. We'll call you in advance to schedule a delivery time, then bring the item into your home, unpack and inspect it, perform simple assembly and dispose of all packaging material. (Please note that outdoor grills are not unpacked and require owner assembly. Complete beds will be set up; headboards only will be unpacked, but not attached to existing bed frames.)
