Use our ceramic stone to give your breads and pizzas a marvelous crustiness, like those prepared in a commercial brick oven. Made in the USA, the stone promotes even heat.
- Holds heat exceptionally well, keeping oven temperature steady (the secret to brick-oven baking).
- Pulls moisture from the outer surface of the dough to promote perfect crustiness.
- Made of cordierite ceramic.
- Includes recipes and instructions.
- A Williams Sonoma exclusive.
- Dimensions & More Info
- 14" x 16" x 1/2" thick.
- Made in the USA.
- Use & Care
- Preheat the stone in the oven for maximum heat retention.
- The stone may be left in the oven at all times. Repeated use will harden the stone further and improve its baking performance.
- Always allow the stone to cool before removing from the oven.
- Do not place pastry or cookies directly on the stone; the butter or fat content will cause the stone to smoke.
- Prior to first use, wash the stone in plain water.
- Allow the stone to cool completely after use. Brush off any residue and use a nylon pad (without soap) to remove any burnt bits.
- Hand-wash with water only. Do not use soap or detergent.
- To remove stains, make a paste of baking soda and water, apply with a brush and rinse off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KWalls from Perfect Pizza I absolutely love my pizza stone. I have had it a few years now and make homemade pizza at least a couple of times a month. The technique of using a pizza peel and pizza stone takes some work, but once it is mastered I would never go back to using a pan. I recently started using it on my gas stove and it is fabulous. I can get the stone so much hotter than the oven and get such a good crust out of it. Now it is just mastering keeping the grill temp where it needs to be once the stone is good and hot.Date published: 2016-06-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Kanani from This stone is a "Winner" I hvave made several pizzas and bread on this stone already shape is very convenient No odd smell either on first use! I highly recommend this stone and best of all Made in USA!Date published: 2016-02-02Rated 1 out of 5 by IloveNY4ever from Huge disappointment Used it several times. No matter what I did, the pizza stuck to the stone, and it was impossible to get all the residue off the stone. Did not do anything for the crust - always came out undercooked. Never had these problems with an inexpensive round metal pan from the supermarket!! Looked really grungy - threw it out.Date published: 2016-01-21Rated 5 out of 5 by EdieC from All good things come to an end... I bought this stone way back in 1981 and it has been a dependable friend ever since. Tragically, we opened the oven one December evening to find our baby in 2 pieces. Although we have been able to continue using it by joining the parts for use in the oven only, this is not a good long term solution. We look forward to welcoming a new stone to our kitchen and may it serve our family as faithfully as its' predecessor.Date published: 2016-01-07Rated 3 out of 5 by Luciella from Mixed Reaction This was the only rectangular pizza stone on WS when I bought it. Reading the directions it recommended a pizza paddle to use it. Tried it without a paddle or cornmeal and the pizza stuck all over the stone. Will try it with cornmeal next time but it may be only useful for crisping pie crusts or other baking. Wish I'd bought the cheaper, skinnier stones.Date published: 2015-10-05Rated 5 out of 5 by ladybugs0mom from The Best Stone i've had this very same stone for 14 years, and only just broke it (the top to my 7.5 qt Le Cruset braiser fell on it, lol!), and i'm heart broken! so i'm running out right now to get another one. i just hope it's still the same quality. i'll keep you posted.Date published: 2015-04-10Rated 5 out of 5 by JohnWerner from One,of, if not, the Best Baking Stones I received this stone as a gift about 5-years ago and it has served me faithfully ever since. I love to make pizza (I use Bobby Flay's dough recipe with a bump in sugar) on this in my gas fired oven. It hasn't cracked with 500-degree constant use and has developed a brownish bronze patina that requires only a wipe of grape seed oil with the dough cooking directly on it. Using a metal or wood peel it comes right off and the crust is crispy! I only wish I could fit this on my Big Green Egg but the square nature of it makes it slightly too large. So far I believe this is the best stone I've purchased and I absolutely love it. Truly, for the pizza or brad maker, a gift that keeps giving. It's not cheap yet there's others more expensive that don't equal the quality of this stone. I recommend it highly.Date published: 2015-02-24Rated 5 out of 5 by sewgr8Iam from Makes a crispy pizza! I like this for a crispy pizza and recommend this, but it barely fits into the oven so make sure that it will fit yours. Also I discovered a new use for this--drying your freshly picked herbs. Bake them at 200 degrees, stirring them every once in a while until they are dried.Date published: 2013-11-10
