Zabaglione is one of Italy’s classic desserts. Serve this warm custard of beaten egg yolks, sugar and Marsala wine on its own or over fresh fruit or pound cake. Mauviel’s zabaglione pot has the traditional round bottom that promotes whisking and a riveted brass handle for holding the pot over a low flame. In addition to providing excellent temperature control, copper helps stabilize the custard’s foamy consistency. The pot’s unlined interior is safe for use in preparing zabaglione or beating egg whites – but never for general cooking purposes. Family-owned Mauviel has supplied chefs and home cooks with fine copper cookware since 1830. Hand-wash. 3 1/2-qt. cap.; 8" diam., 5 3/4" high. Made in France.
- Hand wash in warm soapy water. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.
- Never use abrasive cleaning products or scouring pads.
- Oven and broiler safe.
- Copper will develop a rich patina over time. This will not affect the cooking performance. To keep the exterior looking new, use a copper polish or a combination of lemon and salt.
