French cooks choose this low cast-iron pan for baking tarte Tatin, the upside-down apple dessert that is a national favorite. You’ll find it just as useful for pies and quiches as well as main courses that are started on the stovetop and completed in the oven. Its flat handles assist lifting the filled baking dish and flipping foods onto a plate. The heat-retaining cast iron has an easy-care finish of colorful porcelain enamel inside and out. General Information
- Dishwasher safe.
- Never use abrasive cleaning products or scouring pads.
- Remove stubborn food residue with a plastic or sponge scourer only.
- Use wood, plastic or heat-resistant nylon tools to avoid scratching the enamel.
- Handles will get hot - use pot holders. At the table, use with a trivet.
- For best results, use low to medium heat on stovetop. Oven and broiler safe; however, the black phenolic handles are only safe to 450ºF.
- Do not slide pans on the stovetop. Enameled surface can chip or crack if dropped or banged against a hard surface.
