This Dutch oven is ideal for baking a casserole, slow-cooking meats and vegetables, or simmering a savory stew. Its oval shape is particularly recommended for poultry and long cuts of meat, quickly seared on the stovetop at high temperatures, then slowly simmered in liquid with seasonings. Finished with easy-to-clean enamel, the heat-retaining cast iron distributes heat evenly, so foods cook at low temperatures for maximum flavor. Because the tight-fitting lid seals in moisture, meat and vegetable dishes cook to tender perfection. General Information
- Dishwasher safe.
- Never use abrasive cleaning products or scouring pads.
- Remove stubborn food residue with a plastic or sponge scourer only.
- Use wood, plastic or heat-resistant nylon tools to avoid scratching the enamel.
- Handles will get hot - use pot holders. At the table, use with a trivet.
- For best results, use low to medium heat on stovetop. Oven and broiler safe; however, the black phenolic handles are only safe to 450ºF.
- Do not slide pans on the stovetop. Enameled surface can chip or crack if dropped or banged against a hard surface.
